Good beginner post.

I guess the 3 column template is a good choice since it gives you a good option to manage to extras :)

I would say when you try creating a template on your own you tend to waste most of the time perfecting it. (atleast I do) so it would be good it you use of the free professional templates.

I agree that if you use a popular template, it won't seem unique but therein lies the dilemma - most templates are popular because they look good and have desirable features - those less popular may lack these. Of course, customizing is the best option but for those without a budget or skills, this may prove challenging.

> Michael

good points, those are good questions for before starting off with a website - brain storming - I was more targeting content organization and the flow of links

those are great points for users that will want to start on the internet, especially brand and what their website be about

Those questions are a good starting point. I think there are a lot of things that you need to think about though.

What do you think of questions like: is your blog's purpose to sell ads? Increase subscribers? What image are you trying to give off? Is it accessible? etc.
