But they say that the traffic that SU brings is not anymore counted by Alexa as legitimate traffic. How true is that?

Although in the past I've been able to get some decent traffic from Stumbleupon, it never really converted well at all. As for Alexa, I don't think that people really pay that much attention to it any more. Maybe, I'm wrong.

Interesting way to increase our traffic and notify Alexa. Stumbleupon is one of the famous social site that draws enormous traffic. One of my friend chooses controversial topics just to get extra stumbles which he did but not able to increase the Alexa ranking. I'm sure he will be very happy to get this script.

I'm bit skeptical about the accuracy of Alexa. Although I'm fairly new to SEO and domaining I guess Alexa is not the most accurate tool in the market.
But I will definitely try this out. I was wondering if this still works though, since this post is dated July 2007.

Ada:

I had same problem before. When I had Alexa traffic ranking at 1.7M up from 5.5M a month ago, it suddenly disappeared from the Alexa web site. When it comes back up again, my ranking went up to 480K.

So I guess you just need to be patient. Alexa sometimes may be updating their system.

Good Luck!

Lucky you! Alexa suddenly says it has no data for me even though it used to before. Funnily enough, my traffic has tripled compared to 3 months ago and suddenly they don't have any data for me. Any suggestions?
