I just finished watching the news and I officially now know that marketers, hiring agency, people in general use myspace to check your status. Status as in current job, height, location, etc. These general topics help other people know who you are and everything there is to know about you.

Is this good?

To them yes, to the general public I say no, because myspace is a social network meant for their social circle not users that want to know information about you.

Marketers use Myspace for a different reason, they try to sell to the over 100 million users on myspace. I also bet these marketers use myspace for a specific niche as well, since they can probably know what part of groups a user is part of or what forums they participate in.

Why is Myspace so popular? Maybe it is because of the ease of use, the simple flow, easily communicate with others, etc. The social network has become a huge boom on the internet, causing the hysteria of Web 2.0.

Interaction is a great form of communication, which brings all of us together. Web 2.0 is not a marketing jargon but a new phase of the internet. The World Wide Web is growing!

Back to Myspace. Myspace is just a new trend among marketers, trying to gather and spam every user to buy something. The theory is if every user bought an item for just $1, they are an automatic millionaire, since there are well over 100 million users.

Social networking is a phase in the internet marketing world, I believe that social networks will not be bothered with spam and other forms of non-networking factors. I have found some ways to market on myspace, but it was not enough for me to even pursue to market on myspace.
