Russell Brunson’s Internet Marketing Myth Report

October 2, 2007 · Print Post · Bookmark post

You have been hearing all these great things about internet marketing. How it opens up new doors for financial freedom for us all. Russell Brunson has created a nice little report about the Internet Marketing Myths. Will it really open doors for everyone?

For everyone, probably not. Since Russell Brunson has written a report about marketing myths, I have decided to write a little about the myths that I heard about when I first started on blog marketing/internet marketing.

Let us take a look at a few common things about internet marketing and find out if it is real or a myth. I wonder if there is a MythBuster show for Internet marketers! Now thats an IDEA!

Low-StartUp Cost

When I first started this blog and started other marketing methods, I rarely spend a load of cash. I started on eBay and cost me nothing to start earning money. I did some work but I put out nothing except maybe my email address when I signed up with eBay sometime ago.

When you start on the internet there really is no money when you first start. This blog cost me under 25$ to setup. So you really can start an online business with little or no money.

Make Thousands With Little Work

Hmm, this is a double take because you need to do a lot of work when you first start but later down you do not have to do a lot. For example NOW, I am doing a lot of work - but it was less than what I did prior. I actually have some income now that I pay others to do some projects for me, ecovers, scripts, ebooks, etc.

The first factor is dedication, once you know you are dedicated you will succeed. No work means no play. Later down the road you want to play everyday! So this can go both ways as it can be discussed both ways. You will NOT earn thousands with little work, but you WILL earn thousands with little work.

Earn Money While You Sleep

Ofcourse this is true, I tend to wake up check my email and I will have paypal transaction deposits within my account. What about if I check my ClickBank stats and I see transactions, for work I did not have to do. Once you have established traffic and loyal readers and subscribers you can easily make money from them.

Again it takes hard work and dedication, once you have that you can earn while you sleep.

I do earn income overnight but not everyday. :)

Figure out more myths and see if they fall into your hands and situation. I suggest downloading Russell’s Brunson Internet marketing Myth Report to learn more:

It’s wonderful to see more and more people who are doing business on the internet speaking up about the truth of the matter. You’ve hit the nail right on the head when you say there is a LOT of work to do to startup. I’ve worked with people who have wasted thousands of dollars purchasing internet marketing programs “guaranteed” to make them millions while they work one hour per day in their pajamas at home on their computers. While some internet ventures can actually be started up with no capital investment of money, a great deal of time must be invested into market research, content and keyword research, list building and so much more. It’s not impossible…as we see here with your beautiful site, but it’s not going to be handed to anyone on a silver platter. I know what you mean about waking up to check email and accounts and seeing how your work has been performing while you sleep. It’s a great feeling. I’ll bet the internet will be hearing much more from you in the future.

I think that the low start up cost is really dependent on your platform. If you’re going to use Blogger, for example, then your costs are nil. However, if you’re going to try to be more serious about your blog, and purchase hosting, a domain name, it could start to add up. My blog cost about $136 to set up (Includes domain name and hosting for 4 years).

That being said though, once you get started, there are few costs involved. It is much more of a time investment than a monetary investment.

I would certainly agree you that the most important thing when starting off is an inspiration and dedication more than money. The money comes in later when you want to take your blog to the next level. When I did start my blog, I spent hardly anything except taking the time to keep it up to date.

PS: I would like to enter the Themes contest with this comment!

Thanks for an honest and to the point blog post. FINALLY some advice that is realistic.

One of the most frustrating things I have faced since venturing into the world of internet business is having to sift through thousands of promises of making millions in just a few days with no work involved, which in reality is something we all know is impossible.

The biggest my related to IM is that an ordinary person can become a millionaire overnight without doing too much of anything. I honestly do not believe that. In reality yes, there is money to be made online, but like any business it takes time and dedication. Hopefully after time, hard work and dedication, there are huge rewards and freedom to be celebrated at the other end :D

Russell’s Report is great and I really think I will be able to use alot of the information he has included in there. Very to the point and in a language that makes sense and is realistic.

As for start up costs, well, my current personal blog is hosted on blogger and I am in the process of launching an internet business with a friend, which has me truly excited. I think that by starting a personal blog first and spending many months researching I am now in a stable place to move forward (something that is probably overlooked by alot of people keen to make money… research is ALWAYS important)

I now have hosting a domain name (which cost me under $10 to establish!!) and have taught myself how to upload and install wordpress, which is how I discovered your amazing site. I was hunting for more information about Brian Gardners wordpress Revolution Theme.

Your blog looks great by the way, and if I am not lucky enough to win a copy of revolution here then I will be purchasing it asap to get my new business underway.. Its all so exciting.

hahaha . . . and I just finally found the link on the RSS. :P Thanks for the opportunity though, Ian.

As far as myths go, I watch a lot of those info-mercials early in the morning as I get ready for work. The latest one was for the making easy money on eBay. “Buy my money-making kit for $100, and you too can make thousands of dollars…” They make it look so easy, and they show people making tens of thousands of dollars within their first few months. Now while I’m sure there a few cases where it is true, I wonder how many people buy the kit thinking that they need to do very little work to get things started. I wonder how successful those sales programs really are.

Nothing like a little elbow grease.
