The Final Released of my POS Store, I mean my BANS
November 20, 2007 · Print Post · Bookmark post
Finally I have released my BANS store and I think it will do well, since it does not look like those other Build a Niche Store look a like. Again, I like to look different and stand out, I do not want someone to go to my store and be like “Oh, this is one of those BANS website, exit,” I want them to explore. There are multiple stores out there and some slightly different from another but still the same layout and functions. Mine has the same functions but provides more interaction and information, a better layout I say.
With the new re release of BadCircuit.com, issues came up with BadCircuit which you will read about once I start to ramble. Now BadCircuit.com is not a tech blog, but now a virtual storefront. I think this will prove to be a better advantage on my end since I was unable to update this blog every so often, lots of work and projects and very little time. So BadCircuit will be a store front which will be promoted from my marketing skills that I have, I guess.
The only issue I am having with BANS and my storefront is the display on FireFox, not too sure why it is coming up the way it is on FireFox and looking better on Internet Explorer, strange. I will have to look at the CSS ids again and see what is happening. I would like to know your critique on my Virtual Store, are their improvements to be made? How do you like the navigation on it? What about the colors?
My Final Synopsis of Build a Niche Store:
- Very Easy for the Noob and Beginner
- Hard for webmasters that want to design a layout
- I found the Ads section to be pointless, but good for Noobs
- BANS forum is not very helpful - to get a rapid question. There are more users asking for help than actually helping one another.
Again, this is a straight out of the box script and ready to be used in under 15 minutes. The templates are very childish and simple, I simply just adjusted my own. The product is the script itself and all the marketing side will be done on your end. So do not purchase this site if you are just going to make a site to just throw up, you will have to market it and do some work!
I was on the way out, that is why I am bundled up, and I decided to make this little video so enjoy:

Ian, Thanks for stopping by, please keep us updated on how BadCircuit.com is doing. I like the look, it does not strike you as a BANS store at all. Are you using some SEO on it as well?

I will be doing some SEO for the search engines - just need to see what is the best way to do it - since it really is not a content site….hmmm any ideas?

I think BANS is great for this time of year - the only reason I bought it. A week into it I can’t really say since the stats are still very early - I will be posting about my BANS in a later post with my traffic stats though, showing the growth in just a couple of days.

Hi All
Does any one know where I could purchase a similar template for BANS. I also like the 3 column layout over the 2 column. I have heard that BANS can it be installed inside WordPress. Is this possible.
Thanking you all for your help

as of right now I do not know if BANS will be able to work within wordpress, as for the templates - I used any free wordpress template that were 3 columns and adjusted it to my needs. Right now I do not know if there are templates out there specifically for BANS

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your reply. Will have a look at some wordpress templates I have and see what I can do. Did you just follow whats is in the BANS Manual with the changes.to the code. Do you mind if I email you if I have any problems. I am using BANS 1.3
What version did you use and is ves2 templates easer to change than 1.3

The BANS manual doesn’t go in detail about the actual code - I actually went through most of the php files and found the templates for the feed - if you want to customize the layout of the ebay feed
for the template there are only 2 things that you need to wory about header.php and the footer.php which within BANS itself.
NP shout me an email - but I have and worked with 2.0 so I am not sure if the structure and layout are the same
