He's just a hater...nothing new, stating the obvious. Typical for the lame event known as Affiliate Summit.

User Experience? Isn't the goal to earn as much as money as possible.

Maybe if it was a web 2.0 site with large userbase, user experience is important. But were promoting other company's products, with a landing page (1 page) or direct linking (no page). Thats just what affiliate marketing is, and I agree with him, and thats why I'm not a super affiliate for say, because it is kinda spam. But that is what it is, and it isn't wrong, its just the only real way to do it, unless you have a huge content review site like TTZ Media with John Chow.

This is really interesting. I will not say that I don't spam my readers, but I will say that I do it truthfully and that I have never suggested that I wasn't trying to convert their clicks into sales for my gain. On my blog I have sincerely spoke about my purpose in making money online and they know what the are getting when they come to my site. I offer my readers original, and what I believe to be good content, but at the same time my goal is to make money. I think that once you have established your purpose and are honest with your readers you are no longer being a spammer, you are being a true marketer.
