I emailed the 3 winners of my OIOPublisher Contest. Thanks to all who have participated and who were chosen, the 3 contestants have been emailed and contacted as well by Simon, creator of OIOPublisher. I will have another contest again soon, giving my readers a chance to win one of the premium news templates. So far I have 2 sponsors and waiting approval from several others, if no one else responds to the contest request, I will host the contest with the sponsors I have available. After that contest there will be another contest soon as well - more to come!
Contest - do they generate traffic and increase RSS subscribers? So far I have ran 2 contest and it has given this blog a jump start in the blogosphere. I try to incorporate interaction and try to gain RSS subscribers by doing contest, since readers and users will find something interesting and may participate. It is all about the final product and how important it is to the end user. So far I will host 2 more contest and I will see if it helps increase my traffic and RSS subscribers as well.
Weekend Recap:
This weekend it was pretty busy, I did a couple new things: work on a new report with a great PPC manager, created the layout and squeeze pages for the report, created a new website which will be the “brand” of all my sites, helped a reader with one of his movie blogs, generated an ecover for the report I am currently making, Secret Classroom, etc. There were just a lot of things that I was doing that I need to really start to make or organize myself a little bit more.
I just usually go with the flow with the things I need to do in mind. I have to start to learn how to write down one thing, accomplish it and then finalize it. Once that is done, go on to the next task and execute it. Staying focus and organized is the key.
Virus/Spyware on my Laptop:
On one of my laptops I receive this horrible spyware/malware crap - it was called pt.html. It was a taskbar popup bubble asking me to download and scan my pc of spyware. It kept popping up every 5 minutes and it was really getting annoying. The spyware even changed my background with an image of my public IP address! It took me about 1 hour to find the fix and get rid of it. I used HiJackThis, SmitFraud, and Advance Super Spyware Detector to get rid of the annoyance.
I found the information in a local forum; it had multiple detailed steps which really help me get rid of the little annoying bubble. Once it was done my laptop was clean and peaceful - just hope my antivirus and spy ware tools spot it before having it installed.
2 Websites Are Being Edited Once Again:
I will be editing 2 websites of mine once again and hopefully this will be the finalized value of these websites. I took one off domain parking and I decided I will go a head and make something of it. The 2 websites will be built around a blog structure and I will be using one as a personal use affiliate system blog and another will be a service blog, with the help of the powerful OIOPublisher Direct Pro. I am still working on the concept and how to really design the layout, but I hope they will be done by before Affiliate Summit West 2008. I just have so many things on my mind and projects that are just sitting; again I need to get a little bit more organized.

I believe contests DO generate traffic therefore increasing RSS subscribers, however, keeping all that is the hard part. If the content is good, there should be no problem but if it ‘blows’, then the buzz will only last for a little but and the chances of readers UNsubscribing increase dramatically.
One thing I do like about these contests where you have to subscribe, is that it leads me to a blog that I wouldn’t have read before. I am enjoying this blog and am looking forward to the next contest. I am in DESPERATE need of my own custom template.
Keep up the great work, I agree that plugin is powerful!

I had a contest on my main blog (Groovy Vegetarian.com) a few months ago, and it went very well. I got new visitors, new subs, and 37 comments. It stands as the most commented post on the blog still. Plus the giveaway was fun, too. (IMO)
I plan on doing another contest soon, ideally it would be cool to do one monthly, but i cant guarantee the time for it.
Also thanxs for choosing me as the winner for OIO, i absolutely LOVE that plugin. I think the only reason more people arent using it, is either because they dont know about it or because its not free. But it is such a great tool for any blog.
Why would anyone want to split their ad money with anyone else? Right.

P.S. You should consider adding the “edit comments” plugin on your blog. I always mess up my comments and want to edit them. I forget the name of it, but im sure it in google.
