Build a niche store standard templates may be boiler plate but you need to add in seo and content to those to make them seo and person friendly.. a bulk standard plain site with no articles etc will not do well in the serps and will be a very thin site and may not be revisited but with content this will be different. I have some bans sites and still make money from these. I think your misunderstand.
