Becoming a Seasonal/Part Time Affiliate…

This has been on my mind a couple times now and I want to see where I am at. The past 2 posts from of Jonathan Volk, Fail, Fail, Fail and Profit vs Time are 2 great posts he made. I definitely believe in failing to learn, it how my blog first got started. But the profit vs time definitely got me since, I am handling multiple projects and just keeping up with my steady campaigns or even creating multiple campaigns for testing.
As you know I have several products and some of them require a lot of time for support. There are days where my whole day is support and I do not even get to look at my stats, not good. Also, I have been partnering up with people and concentrating on services and projects does take up a lot of my time.
So I have decided to be a part time affiliate or seasonal affiliate. Affiliate marketing taught me a lot about marketing in general and gathering traffic. Which I have been using to leverage for my products and other products that will be booming out in the near future.

Though I will still be talking about affiliate marketing on this blog and any case studies I will be doing, but I will try to keep my blog up to date on what I am doing. Since this blog journals what I am currently doing on the internet. So this is a quick write up of what I am up to and that success comes with failures and risk that have to be taken up.
I have to deal with a bunch of support, talk to business partners, talk to affiliate managers, talk to google, manage my campaigns, manage time, manage task and prioritize. There is just too much to do in a little amount of time. I will see how this goes for me, I have told several of my friends about this and I think this will be the next jump for me.
I know personally this will be a big jump for me, but I will still be doing a lot of testing as marketing is all about testing and all about numbers.
My buddy Jonathan Volk is a busy guy as he is in the process of purchasing house and going to get married so I want to know how he is handling all this work because I know I am having trouble managing time and efforts sometimes.
So I will still be doing minor affiliate stuff, just keeping up with what I have and ofcourse maintaining it. I will probably posts something tomorrow about how affiliate marketing taught me to grow and how to expand out. Something to think about when I write something this weekend or even tomorrow.
But sometimes I may not be able to leave the affiliate marketing industry…

Well best of luck with all of your products. Eventually you do have to prioritize things and decide where is best to concentrate all of your time and energy. Affiliate marketing is a great way for entrepreneurs to get started, but they do often realize there is better money in selling your own products. I will learn what I can from affiliate marketing and setup a decent income stream. It does seem that the next step is creating my own product, whether it is a software program, an ebook, a membership site or something else.
Which product are you concentrating on most these days? Twitter Snipe?

It’s hard to manage multiple projects, especially when they’re service oriented. Hopefully you’ll be able to work out your schedule to get back to affiliate marketing but if not, good to know the skills you learned will help you in other aspects of your business. Good luck!

thanks – I am not fully stopping I am going to be still in it but not as heavy as I was.
It is definitely tough to juggle everything by yourself, I can relate to that Ian. I am a college student, and I am one of those rare bread of college students in my opinion… Because I am one of the few out there that while they are going to college, at the same time, in their free time I am working hard on my websites/blogs. Depending on how much you have under-taken it really is a balance between profit vs time. I would say… it depends how much you are earning in each of the projects you are working on, and if it were possible to outsource some of those tasks while still making money, that would be the best scenario, and would free up some of your time.
Till then,
Jean
Ian, I can see that you’re really a busy body. I understand that support really takes a lot of time and it might keep supporting non-stop for the rest of your time. It’s great to see you actually learn a lot from affiliate marketing, this is what I’m going to learn now too.
Anyway, I wish you all the best and keep update this blog okay? We’ll be here with you.
Regards,
Lee
I hear you with how busy it all is but in all seriousness, I believe there is much more money to be made focusing on affiliate marketing primarily than worrying about e-products. Just my 2 cents.
Good luck Sir. I am hoping for your success. You deserve to be on top on what ever your project is. You are really a very hardworking and full of dedication man.
Cheers,
Ron
Could hiring an employee or two take some of the pressure of you? Someone to handle your support tickets and campaign management?

By the way, I still appreciate your help by agreeing to the interview despite your busy schedule.
