Peter - What do you have to say about JR's comment on privacy/confidentiality? one way or an other, networks will disclose their data/business intelligence to a company that could potentially be a competitor. how do you guarantee that this data is not being shared?

@ Ian,
thanks for the solid review. Keep us posted on future suggestions you have for HasOffers.

@ JR and StuPidasso - The barrier to entry for affiliate networks should not be in the technology, it should be in establishing relationships with advertisers to provide solid offers. The simple fact is that our technology is more efficient and therefore costs much less to maintain. Though we plan to provide more paid applications in the future, our efficient technology is the primary reason for such low prices.

Why would a Network (Tatto Media, the owner of HasOffers) license their proprietary software out for free to create unlimited competition against themselves. What could they possibly have to gain by doing this???

Answer: As Google does by giving away free tools (ie. urchin = Google Analytics), they will collect as much industry insider information as possible to benefit their own network. Meaning.. any network that starts their business on HasOffers has Zero Privacy and will expose ALL of their affiliate and publishers information to Tatto Media. Your business becomes their business.

Its a genius business model but I certainly hope REAL business owners don’t fall prey to this scam.

How can anyone be serious about starting an affiliate network if they aren't willing to invest in the software (in house or 3rd party)? You can't expect reliability from a free software. There are too many questions unanswered. Like, what's in it for the people who spent the time and money building this platform? What happens when someone throw a ton of traffic at it and the whole system crashes? Why would affiliates run traffic for a network who is running off a free software (if you can't afford to pay for the backbone of your business how can you afford to pay me)? No tracking software is going to be perfect no matter who develops it, but giving it away for free raises too many eyebrows.

I'm all for starting an affiliate network, but it seems just like Acai and Biz Opp offers, starting an affiliate network is beginning to become too saturated. Its because of affiliate network scripts like DirectTrack and HasOffers that the field is becoming saturated.

Am I saying that HasOffers is a bad piece of software? No cause I've never used it but give it a few months and every network will have it and the tracking will become an issue possibly.

Bottom line, scripts and pre-made software are good but what about just getting a custom affiliate network site made from the ground up from scratch. Just my .02 cents but at least then the main focus could be on building a tracking system to how YOU want it.

It's remarkable how often people overlook the importance of tracking and tracking reports. They're both integral to revenue, transparency, and just outright intelligence you can use to optimize your campaigns.

Nicky Senyard, in fact, recently did a video blog about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fss6sClrQ4M
