Bevo Media Released, a 202 Killer?

This is a dual post by me and Ryan Bukevicz. The first half is written by Ryan giving an intro while the second part are my thoughts.

Bevo Media has officially launched its new internet marketing management platform. Three years in the making, Bevo is finally opening up its doors to the industry. With such extensive features, a long developmental period followed by intense beta testing were a must to ensure that the platform is everything the industry has come to expect…and more.

With Bevo Media, users can track, manage and optimize their PPC, PPV and Media Buy campaigns all from one central interface. The goal of Bevo is consolidation. It brings together everything on the expense side of things and everything on the revenue side of things to allow publishers to see all of their information. Bevo allows you to install your affiliate networks in their entirety so you can browse and receive offer codes without leaving the interface. Also, they have a full PPC editor (sort of like the Adwords editor, but with all the engines) which allows publishers to create and edit PPC campaigns and “cross-post” them to multiple traffic sources….again, all without leaving the interface. Best of all, Bevo Media is free to the userbase.

Bevo Media also offers a variety of other useful affiliate marketing tools. They have a full marketplace where you can get landing pages, SEO, articles and consulting. They have an extensive classroom for those who are new to the industry or for anybody to brush up on some knowledge. All in all, Bevo Media is a true game changer in the industry.

My thoughts…

I had Bevo for quite a while now and I definitely like the 1 stop shop aspect of the platform. There are some real flawless parts about Bevo like the network stats, which updates your earnings from the network and the one stop shop marketplace, which is growing.

The interface does take a little getting use to, when I first was in beta I did ask Ryan where things were. It only took me a day to get use to it and maneuver around the interface. The fact it incorporates media buys, ppv and ppc campaigns makes this a universal platform.

In the past Ryan has always held Bevo back from the public especially last Affiliate Summit West. He had a booth and it created some really good buzz about his product. I don’t know if it was a marketing tactic he approach it with but he did a really good job at creating a “want it now” buzz around Bevo.

Now that it is out, how will it compare to the more popular Tracking202? Ever since the 202 buy out (which has been bought back), a lot of other affiliates were looking for alternatives. At that time I think Bevo came in the right time which brought the buzz all around his product and company.

I haven’t toyed with Bevo that heavy but I have the network integration which I really like about it a lot. The variable pass through I think is also one aspect which I think is powerful as well.

  • I saw a press release for Bevo Media last night on Yahoo! News. I will create a free account after #ASE10. (Overwhelmed right now!)

I think the Bevo addresses many of the challenges that the industry faces in terms of tracking and centralization.

When I take a test drive I’ll be looking at the following:

1: How reliable is the platform?
2: How safe does the user feel placing personal and business related items into the software.
3: How can this company grow and offer more value to it’s users.

From the outside, Bevo looks like a smart company that has positioned themselves for growth in an industry that is emerging. Realistically, Bevo could be a game changer and be viewed as a standard widely-used software.

Looking forward to testing it after the conference!

    Nice idea? Yes!

Will I use it? HELL NO!

Unless there is a self-hosted solution, I would never, ever give over all the keys to my kingdom in this manner. It’s just idiotic.

  • AFFCricle

John- there is a self hosted version. LOL

This project is freakin awesome, ive been using bevo for a while. I love it. Should be awesome to see how this unfolds, i think affiliates only win at the end.

  • Obviously John, you wouldn’t know unless you used it. There is a self-hosted version, however, it goes for about $200 a month and you’ll get unlimited API calls.

Too bad my dumbass slipped up and put my AdWords account in there without knowing that within’ 2 hours, my 10,000 API calls would be absorbed that quick.

That’s the only personal flaw I seen in BeVo Media so far.

  • Hey guys,

First Ian – I want to thank you for the post! I appreciate it.

John – we actually do have self hosted as AFFCIRCLE said 🙂

Dustin – you dont actually need to install Adwords to use Bevo. You can just do the estimated click cost for the KW Tracker. I dont recommend installing adwords for nonpremium users. The API charges were absolutely killing us in beta, so we had to cap it out to free users somehow. If you have any more questions about this, let me know.

As for everyone else, please feel free to hit me up if you need anything 🙂

  • Wow, three years in the making! Then it must be carefully thought out. Really interesting to see what it’s really made up of and also how it performs.

  • Jed

@ Dustin- I noticed that you said your adwords account zapped up your API calls? How often does that 10,000 refresh? Is it daily, weekly, etc.? Thanks.

  • Thank you all for your wonderful comments! 🙂

Jed – Nonpremium users get 10k free API calls every month. Premium users get unlimited. You technically dont need to use any calls to use our interface, you just need to use manual subID upload or pixel tracking. Anymore questions just let me know!

  • I’m gonna chime in here as well and say that my experience with Bevo has been awesome. I have been using it for about a month now and am very happy with it. Ryan has been extremely responsive throughout the beta and he and his team continue to evolve and make the platform better and better. They have been continually adding and refining and actually listening to users and what is important to them. It definitely shows in the end product. Highly recommended.

  • With the Self Hosted Version of Bevo it says to get Verified at $19.95, I guess a month.

I hear you get an app to simply have it installed on a Rackspace Cloud.

Does the $19.95 cver the monthly Rackspace cost?

Someone mentioned $200.00 a month foe the SElf Hosted version???

I don’t use adwords just PPV and Media buys.
What is my cost for the self hosted version then?
