OMG. That’s helarious, I just spent like an hour yesterday watching a Beach Body infomercial for the 10 minute workout.

After watching it I thought to myself “Holy crap they spend a LOT of time talking about testimonials!”

It’s like after 30 minutes of watching I had no idea about what exactly is so great about about the product – all I heard is testimonial after testimonial, after testimonial…

Crazy thing is that I wanted to buy the product myself even though I had no idea what it’s all about just listening to all the great results people got.

After watching that I realized that NONE of my sites have enough testimonials.

Time to get on that.

I actually did a post about this a week or two ago. It seems that all the infomercials offer the same exact thing on each one which I talked on.

I be honest, I never bought any, but get a kick out of watching them. It actually gets my creative ideas going.

I definitely agree that marketing has parallels from one medium to the next. A good marketer can thrive with any medium. It is all about getting into the mindset of your target audience and hammering home selling points and the call to action.

Iâ??ve seen a few infomercials from time to think, with the mind set of learning from them. As a marketer, and someone in business you can definitely get alot of takeaway by studying each infomercial.

I don’t think that paid programs on Tv realy work and they do make profits? I have never seen their product working as they say.

Hi Ian, I also have this habit of watching infomercials even though I have never picked up the phone to actually order any of them. Some of the products are really interesting just by the way they present it to the viewer even though it may be a product that’s not really that special or unique, so definitely a lot to be learnt about selling from watching them.

As a rule I do not watch television, in fact I don’t even own a television set, but your point is well taken, Fernando. The infomercials are well researched and put together by agencies who have been involved in marketing for years. The same principles of catching fish are relied on pretty much across the board. The basics always remain the same.
