Ever since Ryan Deiss gave his little info product about Facebook. I have been seeing retarded Internet Marketing ads on Facebook recently, 98% of them are a total waste.

In fact most of them I have seen are all MLM style marketing. One ad I saw took me to Youtube who talked about .WS downline platform. They maybe legit but your landing page is YouTube?

So from my understanding, Ryan’s product told people Facebook is the new Google and now every MLM is doing Facebook ads. I even see retarded internet marketing ads on here that are just horrible. Almost everyday I see a new ad, I assume targeting marketing online. I see a new ad everyday because these newbies either lost cash and do not see any conversions from their crappy landing pages and give up.

Did Ryan not show some type of value on how to run a campaign and not just an ad?

Ever since I started P90X I have been approached by coaches to become a coach or a member of their team. I am contacted everyday by at least 1 coach. So I decided to talk to one coach and asked him how this system work. If you have seen my Facebook status or twitter, I was looking for a P90X offer.

The reason for this is because Beach Body does not have an affiliate program, well they do they just run their model totally different. Very similar to an MLM model. Also, the way they word their program is very similar to any affiliate program or even merchant.

In any case… I just want to ramble about Beach Body Marketers…

Marketing online basically means making money on the internet. Then it dives into multi categories such as internet marketers, email marketers, affiliate marketers, JV marketers, social marketers, info marketers, etc. This list can go on forever. The problem is these marketers or ‘gurus’ in the info marketing space or internet marketing space are a lot of trash.

Affiliate marketers in my opinion are one of the better breed of marketers because we are always interested about more volume and conversions. While most of the internet marketers out there are about JVing with big guys and gathering affiliates. Notice gathering affiliates, because we know where to find traffic.

Yea it has been a while since I posted. So I decided to give a little update on what I have been doing and thinking about. Lately I been trying to think where I want to be in 2010… what I want t accomplish. Even more I been reading Finch’s blog, he posted 2 great posts about the industry and life itself.

It really brought perspective to what I am doing because I can relate to it all and if you read the post all the young affiliates can also relate to it as well. I definitely want to grow and expand my business. I personally have been getting bombarded this month by multiple affiliate networks, JV requests, and bookkeeping. I even think a network signed me up without me knowing because I started getting emails from the network.

So what have I been doing in the past week?

Yesterday I was working some affiliate landers and when it came to inserting and importing affiliate links, I found an issue. FireFox and Google Chrome hates affiliate offers.

How do I know this? Simple they specifically told me, or gave me a warning. When I started logging into networks to check out the offer lps. While some brought me to the offer one in particular brought me to an Untrusted license.

This error brought a curious attention to me as it was my first time seeing it from an affiliate offer. Below, is a FireFox window stating the website is untrusted. This tells me it might be a license issue, I viewed the license and then I can be on my way to see the offer LP.

Well that is probably because you take all the schwag that is being handed out home. I personally learned that I don’t need all that crap. I only go grab what I want. Any excess I just leave in the hotel room for the room service to take home if they wish.

Usually there are tshirts that I grab which I wouldn’t dare wear on the streets of Jersey. So far the only tshirts I rocked out on my block is Convert2Media, Ad Hustler’s custom design, and some others.

From the conference, company’s or affiliate networks use tshirt to do a self promotion of their network or company via a user. Sometimes these shirts can be really dull and/or spammy or most likely corny. You probably seen me with another network tshirts when I do video, but guess what they stay in the house.

Today I approved affiliate.com’s tshirt. This tshirt is def approved for the streets…

I don’t know if you get this a lot but I do notice it a lot with some of the offers I run. The issue is when you are promoting offer, you carefully study your traffic and decide what gets the best conversion. Especially if you put time and day into a landing page to convert.

There is a funnel we work on to make our paid traffic convert.

We put the time and effort to create our landing page to look like the offer page, we add certain graphics, we write and type like the offer page, we add certain text, etc. We do a lot of things to get the user to the offer page and from teh offer page to a lead. It is likely the landing page we create is resulting into a conversion.

Then the inevitable happens… your traffic is consistent but your conversions start to drop off…

Notice what Google has suggested. ...

So my friend Andrew Commander wrote a blog post about how to “steal” a bike. In searching for funny images, he searched on “bike thief” and here’s what he got:

Notice what Google has suggested. Further, click on their suggestion and get this…

Worse, Google Suggest is filling your mind with unholy thoughts. Type in “nigg” and get this…

I might just be searching for the definition of niggardly– which means petty or reluctant to spend– a completely legitimate, non-racist search. But in the case of “bike thief”, Google is actively recruiting me to be a racist, even though it’s some algorithm that notices these particular terms go together. In the same way, if you look at Planet of the Apes on Walmart.com, it suggests Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream”.

Perhaps that’s collaborative filtering gone wrong, where the system tells you what items go together based on what real people are doing– no moral judgment involved, just matching user activity streams.

This is even true with PPC, where advertiser load up a bunch of keywords (called dictionary uploading) and just plug people into search.

At conferences, my old fallback was to do a Google search on “used condoms” and “nuclear weapons”– and up pops an ebay ad– “Looking for Used Condoms? Bid on Used Condoms now! Find great deals & huge selection”

In the same way that Google’s algorithms will just match user data together, PPC advertisers will just upload every word in the dictionary and bid on it– never mind how silly it looks when you apply Dynamic KeyWord Insertion into ad copy. By the way, ebay has removed a lot of my favorite demonstration searches, but “used underwear” still works. And if you search on “used condoms”, you will still see ads from local.com and RefurbDepot.com– can’t imagine what they would have to offer. They should have “used” as a negative keyword, but that’s another post on PPC tactics.

So is it really wrong if the system gives you back what you’re most likely, statistically, to want to see? After all, you can’t blame the mirror if you don’t like what you see in the reflection.

If you weren’t watching the VMAs last night, it was a good show. Now there has been several things that was ehh and disrespectful people as well. Overall the show was good. But the first award of the night left people tweeting about Kanye West, even until today (09/14/09). I was a fan of Kanye but recently I haven’t really like a lot of his stuff.

When I actually saw Taylor won an award I was like WTF. Then I saw Kanye and was LOLin. Then obviously everyone was mad that he shouldn’t have taken her glory, agreed.

If you do not know what happened, Kanye basically got on stage and took the mic from Taylor Swift and said Beyonce had the best video ever and then walked off. Here is the actual video of him doing so:

Now I thought about it from a social marketing side or marketing side. He was still being talked about up until today. You see his name on the top trends of Twitter and on radio shows and on multiple blogs.

So I have been working on the road a lot lately, sometimes it gets boring working at home. So I have been going to the beach past couple weeks and using my iphone to tether to the laptop. I have been getting a lot of questions about the tether via Twitter and Facebook, so I will post it here.

The tether is very simple and very basic. Even though ATT will release a way for users to tether their iPhone, this is a temp fix or hack to get it up and running right now. NOW, this is how I did it and it should work for you. If you are going to tether all your other laptops as well, make sure they have the newest release of iTunes with iPhone compatibilities. This tether will not work on new PCs without iTunes.

Also, make sure you check your data usage via your ATT account online. You do not want to abuse this because ATT may flag you. Another thing is this will work with the new iPhone upgrade 3.0.1 (I checked my version, 09/07/09). I am unsure if this will work with prior versions.

Ok so lets get tethering…
