Affiliate Summit is such a powerful conference because you gain so much knowledge from so many people, big or small. Their ideas and way of making money online differs from how everyone does it. The fact how someone makes money online intrigues me because I personally haven’t done what they have done. Everyone knows a trick you don’t!

My day 3 started off with going to the blog room to catch up on stats. I then ended up going to the keynote by Brian Clark. Some good points… one point he made was that the days of ppc are over… hmmm guess he hasn’t really worked with Google straight forward. But I find that comment hard to believe.

His keynote was more about content and how content creates the traffic, etc. He described content can be in any form, music, audio, video, etc. How content is portrayed drives the traffic and the demographics for your offer or site.

I just don’t think PPC will ever die.

So I started off to the blog room to write the post you read yesterday. After that, I went off to listen to the keynote by Dr. Robert Cialdini. His keynote was very informative and had a lot of good things to improve your business. The keynote was base off using words and the pschology of using scarcity, emotions, etc.

I really enjoyed the keynote and was also surprised at the stats he provided with his casee studies. It is definitely something I am going to implement and read on. I know words can affect someone’s emotion and decision but changing ONE word or flipping a statement can have a huge effect on conversions, especially in our industry.

Well anyways the meet market turned out to be a good venue. I talked to several new users on their services and I found one that was really interesting. I met up with a bunch of people and found new people as well. It was a best way to meetup with everyone in the industry. I actually enjoyed meeting a bunch of new people and readers.

As well as close friends in the industry.

I look forward to putting my input about the industry and meeting new people. I also want to thank Jason Rubacky in getting this setup for me as well. Jason works with SAS and is very helpful. We have met up at ASW this year and now are good friends.

So what will this years SAS think tank consists of? Golfing, sun bathing, beach parties,…. eergh some workshops as well.

But it was real bad on my part that i missed both keynotes and these keynotes are the ones I wanted to listen too, especially Peter Shankman. Well I managed to learn a lot and I am actually starting to work with an advertiser in which no other network want to do. So let see how this works.

I definitely met a lot of great people and hanged out with them.

This year the booths seemed they went all out, one of the more favorite ones and the place to hang out was Convert 2 Media’s booth. Ruck and Steve know their affiliates and definitely know how to do it. They had a bar, literally a full blown bar, wish I took a picture of it. The exhibit hall was 2 floors, which I think confused a hell of a lot of people. Downstairs was always super crowded while upstairs was super empty.

But Day one got me a bit pissed since I missed Chris Brogan’s keynote. So instead I made it to the meet market which was very busy and hot. I did a quick run around and then decided to stay in the middle of the meet market and just hang ot with Ad Hustler and Bryn.

We had fun just chillin and drinking and had people walk up to us. We were also having fun messing with som of the people at Affiliate Summit. Also if you already do not know, the official Ad Hustler t -shirt! Thanks bro.

So what did I learn? I actually learned a lot, more so about internet marketing. There was a session on PPC marketing but it really wasn’t entertaining as I was I think, the only affiliate marketer there. But I did get to talk to Anik Singal about some PPC stuff and his 2 mentors he brought along. There were some sessions that got my attention and I definitely met a lot of good people. I as welled partied heavy.

I also talked to John Hasson about his new project, KW Grouper (Keyword Grouper). Very interesting little script that he has and it does very well, I mean Google’s own grouper sucks.

The last day is much more calmer as users tend to go and leave early that day. I actually met up with another network to discuss the project and how I can access their API properly base on the needs of the project. It was a great conversation and hope to start getting things done with the API and what I want to release.

At the end of the summit, I had a sessions and spoke on the subject of Keyword Blasting. I thought I was going to be nervous but I was pretty calm as if I was talking at my regular IANteract Meetup. The session was different from others because I insisted for others to interact and talk while in between slides. I figured it would be more beneficial to do such thing since most of the sessions in the past I have been to are very long and no one really pays attention. If there is consistent content flowing then it would flow better and my session has done very well, base on the feedback I got anyways.
