When you think of Tracking202 what comes to mind? Tracking affiliate conversions? PPC Analytics for affiliate marketing? Well the main thought when thinking about this great system is affiliate marketing. Well I can tell you that I track a lot of things besides affiliate marketing with Prosper202. The brand of Tracking202 and Prosper202 has been branded as an affiliate marketing tool. Why is that? It is a PPC Analytic system, which tells you your conversions vs your spending via paid search. The system can be used for non-ppc traffic as well but today I will talk about how I use it to track my digital products. Quick video about it, then step by step tutorial.

Click here to view the embedded video.

First when you have a product you just want to add it as a network. So you can name it whatever you want. MyProducts, Digital Products, or even the name of the product you are selling. You do not have to add a ‘network’ persay. It is just another way to categorized your products from other networks.

Once that has been done there are some quick tips to add in your products and even make sure T202 adds the unique subid to your URL. Below is how to update your product so it can capture the subid tracking202 provides. As you can see below all you have to do is:

Chose your ‘network’

Campaign Name can be the Product name you are selling

Affiliate URL is just the domain with an extension of /? <- IMPORTANT

Payout is the price of the product, 37, 97, or what ever price you are charging

No need for cloaking, its your product

Adding /? to the end of your domain is important because it lets your sales page load and not provide a 404 error. You can add /?subid= if you want as well, the full URL should look like this: http://www.yourproducthere.com/?

This way T202 can append the unique subid and it can be traceable via T202 or the self hosted Prosper202. This is important because if you remove the ? your sites loads with an error, having that ? prevents that.

Next, is the best part about the updated T202 service. The postback URL or image pixel, which most affilaite networks use. Now we get to use a pixel as well. The pixel allows us to track and watch every conversion that is happening with every product purchase. When a person gets to the download section or whatever the final destination page is after payment, the image pixel shoul dbe place on that LAST page.

Once it is on that page it loads and fires back to Tracking202 and updates your stats, easy. Below is a screen shot of how to grab your unique image pixel to place on your final destination page. Simply just:

Chose your ‘affiliate network‘

Campaign, which is your product

Generate Tracking Link

Copy Image Pixel and place on final destination page

Done

This is by far the best way to track your own products. Well this is the best way to track for paid search, when promoting my own products. You can use this method to track your conversions of product creations and how you promote it. It makes life far easier and more simple.

I was watching the games last night, so I apologize for the ‘hysteria’ I may create in the video.

So quickly I want to talk about pricing before we go into promotion and getting traffic to your product, since we have not discussed about pricing in any of the videos I have done. So how do you price your product? There are several factors that I think are important value to the market and time spent on creation. These two are very controversial and can be argued many ways. I see it this way:

How unique is your product to the market?

Are you duplicating a product

How long did it take you or your freelance to create the product?

How much did you pay a freelance to create your product?

How many changes did you have to edit?

What is your competition looking like?

These are the things I look for when trying to price a product, the end price maybe lower than what you expect or even higher. Just don’t let greed take place. You want to price it so that it is reasonable for your buyers to purchase and even enticing for the beggars to buy. Not too high where it will cause curiosity of your brand. Pricing can be a very arguable moment for a marketer but just think about the above factors and you can easily get the right price for your audience.

Now onto Promotion and Marketing

Getting your product notice is very important. I will talk about 3 aspects that I used when promoting and marketing the BANS Themes Package 1. There are 3 things that I think are important to market a product, especially getting a nice initial traffic to your launch.

Enticing the Beggars
This is one of the best traffic sources to get because the beggars are the ones that always want something for free or are the mere testers. The testers become buyers, freeloaders are freeloaders but provide valuable information when doing a case study. Enticing the beggars is simple, give them something for free. Give them a snippet of your ebook, part of an audio, a free template or design.

These end users will be a majority of your traffic and potential buyers, make sure you build trust with them right away. I think it is very important to build trust with the beggars in an early stage because they will want more of what you have, they become addicts.

Have an Affiliate System
Having an affiliate system is crucial because it provides other people marketing your product for you. Instead of you doing all the marketing you have other people doing it for you! If your commission to the affiliate is valuable, as well as the product brand, they will promote your product. I enjoy using $7 Dollar Secret’s Script because it has a built in affiliate system and automates the sales of your digital product securely.

By having others promote for you they get into other markets that might be interested in your product without you evening knowing where the source of traffic is. Other people know other secrets and niches which you may not know, take advantage of other people and use their time.

JV Partner with similar marketers in your niche
This is the biggest part that I think is important next to the 2 above. Partnering with other people in your niche. It is not just telling or emailing people you have an affiliate system and you will give them X amount of the sale. You actually communicate with each other. People think JV partnership is similar to affiliates, I do not think so. It is more towards networking because you help the end user as they help you, there is a bond. Partnering with someone is not just ‘hey I have an affiliate system and I will give you 65%!’ It is called a Joint Venture for a reason. You join together to venture on a project or goal. A lot of marketers get this confuse and think of this as just letting people know about your affiliate system, wrong.

With these aspects of marketing your product you can easily grab buyers and potential buyers to buy your product. These are just 3 simple steps that I find effective and I think will help you succeed with your digital product as well. Since there are multitudes of ways to promote, I think these are important and are the backbone of creating a high effective launch or promotion.

Now that you have your niche specific market, how do you go about creating your product? Ofcourse write it down and be organized. There are several ways to stay up to date yourself and start making your digital product. First write down all your ideas, just write and don’t think. Doing this will help you gather your ideas all at once and keeps your brain thinking about your product and idea.

Once you have your messy ideas written down, organize them into categories and see which ones has similarities. Grouping keyword phrases or ideas easily helps the expansion of your product or services. Next just expand on those ideas asking What, Where, When, How questions to help easily expand your product.

Once you have expanded start creating your product and there are several ways to create your product. You can do it yourself or paying someone to do it for you. In the past I have paid several freelancers to either makes templates, ebook covers, header images, reports, etc. This is the fastest way to get the work done and gives me time to do more than what I wanted to prior.

Outsourcing the tedious work is very helpful. It gives you the opportunity to do more in less time. Assuming your product is ‘indestructible’ you will make your money back the first day of launch! So spending some money to get your product professionally done is well worth it.

But, you can also make it on your own. I have done this and it is definitely time consuming. I have made several reports all by myself and several ebooks all by myself. It is all net profit but what is the cost of my time? A lot of factors play with time and paying someone to do it, usually a controversial part.

Making your simple ebook on your own or script is time consuming but is a total 100% net profit. I have done this several times and found it rewarding. Creating your product on your own means you can simply create the product they way you view it and not someone else. That is the beauty of the product created by you.

What to brainstorm:

Define the Problem and Solve it

Give yourself a time limit

Write everything down no matter how ridiculous it is.

These I think are the things I brain storm about and what my end product should be. Keeping it all organized is a final process to your brain storming. the more you work on your product the more ideas that come. The more ideas come write it down and find a place to enter that idea, as long as it benefits your market.

If you know Marlon Sanders, he created a more usable system called the Product Dashboard. This dashboard has the step by step on how to create a very successful product. While I speak from experience this dashboard helps the newbie create an online successful product to sell. Though my ways of experience is not wrong nor is it right, it is my experience. Marlon’s Dashboard helps create a digital product or even a physical product with the ease of step by step instructions in a 6 week process.

This week will be digital product creation week. I am copying the famous video blogger, Mark from 45n5 style and will be blogging outside, it was a nice weather and why not.

I will talk to you about how I went about and found the perfect product and profited off it. Today we will discuss what kind of product to create and for what market. First we need to find the market we want to find a product for. You can not just make a product and expect it to sell, we need to do a case study. The easiest way to find the perfect market for your product is to find a problem. Once you have that problem attempt to solve it with your idea.

You can target any audience but will your product really sell? Will it be successful? How successful will it be? First target your major audience and find a problem in that audience and attempt to resolve that problem. Let’s take my recent product Build a Niche Store Premium Themes: Package One.

Audience I want to Target:
Build a Niche Community

Problem:
Saturation of ‘out of the box’ templates and different variations of colors

Solution:
Create a set of newly designed templates to out shine other BANS

New Market:
Build a Niche Users who want to create a more brandable BANS

As you can see I targeted a general audience, found a problem, solved the problem, and found my new market. The new market is my new niche and it is more niche specific than my general audience. I want this because I want buyers and not just the ones that ‘think’ they will buy. When you create a product you want to attack the problem right away and from the attack you get a good result immediately.

Once you found the problem, what can you provide to the community or market which will help you succeed with your digital/physical product. Just creating your idea is one thing putting it in a buyers hand is another. You can create a product but who is going to be buying? Your audience is huge that you can not even get a good conversion rate. If you find a problem it reduces your niche market even smaller, you want those buyers!

With the templates, I wanted to target users who are wanting to be different and want to stick out from the rest. There are literally thousands of BANS sites out there and you can safely assume it is made by one webmaster. Why? The reason is because all the ‘out of the box’ templates are the only ones being used. There is no uniqueness or brandable themes (that I saw) which says hey I am a credible store, purchase from me.

Once you have your problem solved and your idea rendering in your head you want to go ahead and study the audience, assuring several factors.

If the problem is solved, how likely are they to purchase?

Will they purchase more of the same ‘type’ of product in the future?
