In the past these dinners have been amazing and beneficial. There even have been mimics of my dinner in the past. Ever since my first one in Boston, the IANteract Dinners have been a ritual at every Affiliate Summit. Even at other trade shows, marketers are expecting another IANteract dinner. Just recently at adtech 2012 in NY, networks were asking if my dinner was sponsored and when it was being held.

But I am doing away with the IANteract Dinner and have renamed and will continue the ritual as the DotCom Dinner. The reason for this is because of some new moves I am doing in the online space. I feel DotCom is more fit for what I am moving into and its easily remembered.

The DotCom Dinner will be held during Affiliate Summit West 2012 in Las Vegas and will be sponsored by XRev Media. We will be having the dinner at BOA at the Caesar Palace Hotel. If you have been to one of my dinners before then you know how exclusive these are and how beneficial they can become. Past attendees have networked with programmers, new business partners, new ventures, etc.

These dinners are to intimately network with everyone that are on the same level. Sometimes clubs and bars are not a great place to network, it is always better to network and talk big money over food.

Local Marketing Meetups and Why You Should Join

This past weekend I had an IANteract meetup. It was a fairly big meetup with a lot of new people as well. I have these meetups because I want to meet new entrepreneurs and discuss new businesses ventures and just network. I usually have this at Panera Bread and this past Saturday, it was packed. Maybe because it was a nice day and it was around 2pm in the afternoon.

Prior to my meetup I was at the Meetup NY – first of 2011. The NY meetup was a good event as well, I got to meet with Ken, Matt, and other NY affiliates. I got to meet with a lot of new people and even networks that flew out from Canada for this just one event. After the NY meetup a couple of us, networks, product owners, and affiliates went out to get a grab to eat. It was a great night out.

Fast forward to this past Saturday, my IANteract meetup is more of just networking during the afternoon and then we either do something entertaining or grab a drink. My meetup consisted of some bloggers, past users from NY meetup, Ad Hustler, Heavy T, and everyone in between.

My meetup is more of a networking event than doing a session, as I know some users were expecting. Anyways, the best part about my meetup is people across the United States come and not just local. It was great to hear that affiliates from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and even Virginia.

The meetup ended with people finishing up their networking and I wanted to see what some users wanted to do. I asked several people if they wanted to go bowling and we have about 12 people playing a game. It def was a great break from talking business. It is important to balance these things out and just go out and have fun. After the game we all broke out and several affiliates were hungry so we decided to go out and grab some food and drinks.

The purpose of these meetups is to link with other link minded users and entrepreneurs in your local area. The saying goes, you are who you hang with. I want to make sure I surround myself with like minded users. I know that I sometimes ‘fall backwards’ because of friends I grew up with. This is another reason why I attend conferences a lot because I enjoy just hanging around with friends in the industry.

Local meetups is a great way to find new friends and even new partners in the your state or local area. For my meetup 3 states decided to come and join my meetup which is just amazing. I want to give a shout to those attendees who drove more than 6 hours to attend my meetup.

Conferences and networking is important, I wouldn’t overdue it but find ones that are very beneficial. For example I definitely think Affiliate Summit is one of the best events to be at. There are so many other conferences in between that are not worth t and some that are. I know the more private and higher ticket networking events are even better to be at.

All in all, if you want to find entrepreneurs in your area I would suggests hosting an event at Meetup.com and then allowing users to find you. You are not the only person that is making money online in your area, there has to be another person you can share the experience with and I think meetup.com is the best place to find those users.

I find these meetups entertaining and engaging, it helps me stay up to date with the industry and keeping conversations I find appealing – marketing. If you feel you are the only person in your area that is doing online marketing, post up or search meetup.com and find ones that will fit you.

Affiliate Summit West 2011 in Las Vegas and at the Wynn Hotel is on its way and again I am having another IANteract Dinner to go hand in hand with this amazing conference. As you know after my first official IANteract Dinner in Boston at ASE08 I started to follow through and keep doing one each Affiliate Summit.

This dinner will be no different, the dinner will be held relatively close to the Wynn and is private invite only. Again the reason I do this and the reason I do it in the first place is to interact with top people in the industry and build that relationship. It is always better to talk business over food among trusted people and top marketers in the industry.

This time Executive Fortunes is sponsoring this dinner at Affiliate Summit West 2011. This is a fairly new network and I had the chance to talk and meetup with Tyler at Ad-Tech this November. We had a talk about the network a bit and just had fun at Ad-Tech.

Everyone that has came to the dinner knows how beneficial it is and I always try to invite new people to the dinner, especially with people I want to meet and network with. If they will be beneficial to my circle of network, my sponsor, and me then why not invite that person. The purpose is to create a tight relationship with affiliates and marketers to leverage each others knowledge and even brainstorm an idea, without the noob commotion.

This is the reason for this dinner because after the IANteract dinner, the parties starts and usually its harder to network when the bass of “Teach me How to Dougie” is in the background. So I am going to find a nice restaurant, its always an amazing restaurant too, and start inviting people.

Affiliate Summit Networking (Party) Events

Got some good responses from yesterday’s Affiliate Summit recap, today I am going to talk about the networking events at Affiliate Summit. Interestingly enough there was enough parties and events, even though there seemed there wasn’t. I made it to almost all of them and met up with great people. The problem with some of these party events is people talk business, but it is hard as hell to talk business when the bass of the song is banging.

First night was the buy.at party, a black and white event. It was cool meeting up with old friends and talking to them about business. The interesting part was they were serving some type of Oreo martini.

IANteract Dinner, this is my dinner and it was sponsored by Kitara Media. The dinner went well, had a hassle in the beginning but it turned out to be a solid networking event with some top guys and close friends. It is much easier to eat and talk about business without the music pounding against your chest.

Elite Clicks Media Private Invite was just an invitation to their suite where we just talked in a calm environment but also had all the alcohol you can drink. It was crazy, so crazy Cashtactics “taught everyone in that room everything he knows” – inside joke.

ShareaSale Party Under the Stars was hella packed and crowded. So crowded I couldn’t move. It was good that they opened up the other side of the balcony which gave room for more people to enter the party. It was still crowded though. The event was good, just because we had the outside balcony and was able to talk to everyone. Great meeting up with Dr. Ngo and Benny!

Morgan’s Affiliate Dinner Gathering was an amazing event. Good food and drinks and it was a great way for affiliates and networks to be in the same room and just BS about stuff outside the industry. Great job Morgan!

Neverblue Party started out dead, no open bar, and techno music… not really the event for me. By the time it was 10:30 it started to fill up and the DJ started to play some hip hop music. I didn’t do much but have like 2 drinks and relaxed. I just talked to some of my readers and chilled with Rohail and Kris throughout the time we were at the Neverblue Party.

Clickbooth and Pulse 360 Party did have open bar and we headed there right after the Neverblue party. I think me and Rohail were seeing how much we can drink and I apparently had a little too much that I took over the dance floor heavy. Then Eric from Clickbooth says I was up in some girl in a private room – which I really do not remember. Good times though.

There was another party upstairs with Google, but we never made it to that instead we ended up meeting a bunch of affiliates and networks at a strip club. Fun times and always looking forward to the next one.

Elite Profits Sponsors IANteract Dinner: ASE NY

Affiliate Summit Officially starts tomorrow night. There are a lot of things that are going to be happening. The best part is everyones’ hangover before even attending and getting their passes for ASE on Sunday.

I will be arriving in NY tomorrow afternoon and meeting up with several people and great friends. I didn’t think I would be in the city on Saturday and I didn’t booked my telly. Now they wont adjust it. Luckily I got good friends. So I will be there a day early and get the Summit Jumping!

The most important part is the IANteract Dinner which is happening on Sunday night 7:30. This dinner is being sponsored by Elite Profits. Adam was one of the first to want to sponsor this dinner but another network got n before hand. Too bad the other network told me last minute and left.

Adam was back on and there to support top publishers in the industries to have a nice private dinner.

Not only did Elite Profits come through with the sponsorship they are bringing a model to the dinner as well as gifts for my friends. Now that is taking care publishers. Prior to all this arrangement, I talked to Adam asking if was still interested.

I had about 3 other networks that contacted me prior and I was going to contact them as well. Elite Profits jumped right on the sponsorship. I have talked to Adam several times and definitely great person and they know how to entertain and give back to their pubs.

Since it was last minute, I thought I would have to cancel the dinner or if it comes to worst I would just cover it. I personally find these dinners to be beneficial. I hosted several in the past and I have had a great reaction from my first to my current. Definitely enjoyed meeting up with friends and sharing with the network people I know in the industry.

But in any case the IANteract Dinner is still on and will be at a really nice restaurant. I hope to see everyone in NY tomorrow or whenever. I will be in NY starting tomorrow mid day till Tuesday night. I am pretty much booked with meetings and just hanging with people.

IANteract is Growing Strong!

Today, I hosted another IANteract NJ Meetup202. I was not going to have one because I thought I would have no time to catch up on my campaigns and projects after Affiliate Summit. I actually got things fixed and done so I decided to hae one for January. I can’t start the New Year without a meetup!

This meetup had a lot more people and more new people. The new people were also new and some were also making money with affiliate marketing. One person recently quit his job 3 months ago and just recently returned from Disney World! Congrats!

This meetup was very interesting as it was again an open forum type of meetup and it provided a lot of questions about what the average EPC should be for an offer, what to look for, keyword tools, etc. Here is a pic of the first wave of people that came:

Readers drove from Montclair to meetup and many others from around the way. This meetup was very big and I am considering on getting a library room or something. There was a lot of good information and a lot of exchange of business cards.

More people started to come later and it got more interesting, my buddy cousinvinnie came in and he basically took over. The IANteract literally split into 2 section: SEO/email and PPC – vinnie had one part of the group and I had the other.

I helped and gave advice on Rohail’s landing page. I also met him at Affiliate Summit West, which was great to see another Jersey dude going to one of these great events.

Another great milestone is one of the regular meetup started their first campaign, though he is doubting the niche, I gave some pointers on what he can do next and saying failure is just a testing phase. Providing that positive feedback definitely help boost him to keep going. We also discuss osme posts I wrote and even started to talk about the census which I wrote yesterday.

By the end of the meetup cousinvinnie took over by providing great information on some SEO stuff, called siloing:

I do not really know too much about SEO stuff but he provided really great stuff about create a hub of information and ranking within hours on Google – really good stuff. At the end pictures taken and I was hungry, so I left while others decided to do some late networking.

Another milestone of the group is a member actually does info marketing! I do info marketing with affiliate marketing. We discuss ways on creating a sales page and how fast to get a sales page up and running. We discussed all about the testimonials and optins – it was great to take a break from the affiliate marketing scenario and talk about info marketing.

The majority of the users were all affiliate marketers and definitely a great way to talk and find out how others are doing in our industry. Met a lot of great people and definitely will have to meet up again next month, if I am not too tired from my vacation this coming week.

But I definitely haveto find a bigger quiter place, we literally were too loud.

IANteractive Day all Night Long at Affiliate Summit

Meet market at Affiliate Summit is very cool because you get to hang out with smaller groups and smaller niche related business. This is a kick off to affiliate summit and it is always a new way to meet people and interact. I met a couple new people and a lot of my readers at the meet market and I talked to several networks about AFFpinions.com and what they would like to see in it. One network actually started to give me lip about how it goes against TOS, I obviously argued just because she thought she was cooler than me.

I also met the affiliate rapper von doogan from PPC.bz – I was thinking about doing a freestyle duo with him on video – lol. I met a lot of people there and just hung out for a bit, until later in the day and night.

I met up with Missy Ward, Shawn Collins, Brian Clark, Brian Littleton, Jim Kukral, and Zac Johnson. There were many more as well that I met up with, such as my readers and networks, I even met the player Mystery(I think my game way stronger…). Cool guy, that he goes to these events and trying to monetize his sites better, awesome how business interlace into affiliate marketing.

After the meetup I was tired ad had to get ready for the IANteract Dinner which was sponsored by Paradigm Visions Inc. I want to thank Erik and Sara and their company for sponsoring such a intimate networking event. I met up with my good friends and invited new. I wanted it to be a great networking event that is intimate where we all can network and talk about affiliate marketing and of course grub out.

The food at the Rum Jungle was crazy good that one of a new attendee keep ordering more food, it was part of this unlimited dish platter. It was great to meet new people and see how everyone interacts with one another. Since it was more intimate we actually had a lot of time to talk about affiliate marketing business, how others got started, and how it is working out for them. Glad Paradigm was there to sponsor such an event.

After getting our stomach stretched, me and Ad Hustler started to go over to the Red Rock Mansion (over exaggerated) and meet up with Advaliant publishers and WickedFire members. I met up with Jivan and Geoff from Advaliant great friends of mine and had a good time. The mansion it self wasn’t really a mansion, I mean it was big and nice but I wouldn’t call it a mansion. Maybe because there were too many people, but it was nice.

There was an indoor pool, a big ass backyard, and like a ton of small rooms. I met up with Ruck and his team from Convert2Media, owner of datingloot.com, Nick Throlson, Bryn, Neil and many others. It was also cool to meetup with people that I met up with from past affiliate summits.

After the Red Rock Mansion, we decided to go out and go harder – we decided to go to the strip and hit up a ‘bar’. The bar was crazy fun and crazy a lot of money. I met new people there as well and met a new network there. It was interesting to say that strippers actually are not that greedy, if you tell them you are a spammer they give you the dollars.

I was done after that and knocked the hella out!

End of the Year IANteract Meetup and ASW

There is a lot of things going on, just so busy. So anyways tomorrow is the last NJ IANteract Meetup202 for 2008. If you are in the NY, NJ, PA area and would like to learn some affiliate marketing, internet marketing, marketing in general – this is the place to be. I have met a lot of new people and a lot of them contributed to the group. The group is growing every meetup and I hope to get the growing meetup to a more closed and even entertaining spots.

I either case the group runs itself. I usually break the ice and then the group just starts to ramble with one another. I do not want the meetup to be a session just an open forum of ideas and discussion. Even noobs can contribute to conversations. There are a lot of experienced members and more so noobs, but everyone starts somewhere.

Speaking of networking and learning, Affiliate Summit is just a couple weeks away! I encourage everyone to attend that is into the affiliate marketing space. This is a meetup similar to IANteract but 1000x bigger and better. You get to talk to merchants, advertisers, affiliates, networks, CEOs, etc. There is just a boat load of information and networking opportunities at Affiliate Summit.

IANteract NJ Meetup: 2nd Edition

Yesterday was a huge success. I hosted another IANteract Meetup and there was about 17 people that has attended. We actually almost took the whole back end room of Panera Bread, well about half. But we definitely need to find a new spot especially if the meetup starts to grow. Below is a photo of the group, kinda sucks that I didn’t take more photos, but I do have a video. The photo was taken at the end and not at the beginning, so we definitely had more people that who sowed up.

Topics of discussions ranged from many parts. The meetup started from me just talking and sharing to groups talking about separate things. We actually had 3 groups talking about different topics and different ways to drive traffic or earn money. Some tops were:

Eric, Adhustler, Benny, Peter Hall, and Anthony went across the street to a sports bar to grab some food and drinks. It was a great meetup to just talk and have fun right after.

IANteract Meetup202 – Success!

IANteract Meetup202 was hosted yesterday and it was a great 2 hour session. I met up with AJ, Benny, Thiago, Ron B, Craig, Kenrick and his brothers. It was a pretty big, well for my first meetup, and it was entertaining. I brought FeedFront magazines for everyone as well. We had the first meetup at Panera Bread, right smack in the middle for everyone, central Jersey. Members drove from up north and some were even local to the area.

When I first got to Panera Bread I was kind of early and decided to chill in my car for a bit. At 2pm I started to walk in and first met up with AJ and Ron B. I actually talked to AJ in the past and met him via Digital Point Forums. I started to small talk with everyone and started to grab some food, I was hungry.

Interesting part of the meetup was the fact there were newbies and they want to jump into marketing, PPC. Also there was big discussion on the make money blogs and ebooks about marketing. Craig is from WickedFire and we basically just told them to join and you will find all the books there. There was a big discussion on how a noob would jump into affiliate marketing and I was even given a scenario.

Overall the meetup was successful, I did want a little more interaction but for the first one it was great. I hope everyone had a great time and learned something. I would also like to grow the meetup to a more interactive and fun place, learn and network then grab a beer after. Maybe Great Adventure would be a nice little meetup location.
