What WordPress PlugIns Do I Use: Part 2

With the new redesign and it being my first month officially wearing this theme. I want to go a head and do a recap of my WordPress plugins. There are new plugins that have been added since the last list and new upgrades. The only thing I kept the same is I have not upgraded to the new WordPress 2.3.1. The reason for this is because I am very hesitant that the installation may do something and everything will be gone. Also when I upgraded to 2.2.1, I didn’t not have a good experience and thus I have not upgraded since.

So since today is the 1 month mark for steadily using the Revolution News Theme, I have decided to bring everyone up to date on the plugins I use. Let’s Get Started:

  • Copyright Feed – Extends the feed! A report of copyright, a digital fingerprint and the IP of the feed reader can be added. In addition, some search engines are scanned for the digital fingerprint in order to find possible content theft. The feed can be also be supplemented with comments and topic-relevant contributions.
  • Ad Rotator – Rotates Ads randomly from a specified text file
  • Akismet – Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not.
  • aLinks – A WordPress plugin that automatically links keywords in your blog post.
  • All in One SEO Pack – Out-of-the-box SEO for your WordPress blog.
  • Bad Behavior – Deny automated spambots access to your PHP-based Web site.
  • BreadCrumb Navigation – Adds a breadcrumb navigation showing the visitor’s path to their current location.
  • DoFollow – Disable the “nofollow” tagging for comments.
  • EverMore – Abbreviate all posts when viewed on multiple post pages. This makes all posts behave as if there is a “<!–more–>” at an appropriate spot inside the content.
  • FeedBurner FeedSmith – This plugin detects all ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber.
  • Feed Footer – Add custom footers (copyright, notices, advertisements) to the bottom of your posts in your RSS feed.
  • Force Word Wrapper – Prevents long sentancesconstructedlikethis from horizontally stretching the page.
  • Google SiteMaps – This generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.
  • Limit Posts – Limits the displayed text length on the index page entries and generates a link to a page to read the full content if its bigger than the selected maximum length.
  • Live – Lets you watch activity on your blog in real time.
  • Most Commented – Retrieves a list of the posts with the most comments. Modified for Last X days
  • OIO Publisher – Allow direct purchasing of paid posts and text links via WordPress, stop giving away commission to the middle-men!
  • OptIn Comments – Grab users email address and name and automatically add them to your mailing list! I suggests providing a double opt-in.
  • Page Link Manager – Adds admin panel to choose which pages appear in the site navigation.
  • Popularity Contest – This will enable ranking of your posts by popularity; using the behavior of your visitors to determine each post’s popularity. You set a value (or use the default value) for every post view, comment, etc. and the popularity of your posts is calculated based on those values.
  • Recent Comments – Retrieves a list of the most recent comments.
  • Related Posts – Returns a list of the related entries based on active/passive keyword matches.
  • Show Top Commenters – Encourage more feedback and discussion from readers, by rewarding them every time they post a comment! Readers with the most comments are displayed on your WordPress blog
  • Smart Updae Pinger – Replaces the built-in ping/notify functionality. Pings only when publishing new posts, not when editing.
  • Subscribe to Comments – Allows readers to recieve notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry.
  • TigerStyle Administration – After working with WordPress for several months now, I felt the Administration area needed a little “freshening up”. I wanted the utility to feel more like an application, and less like a traditional website.
  • Viper Quick Video Tags – Allows you to embed various video types, including those hosted at YouTube and Google Video as well as videos you host yourself, into WordPress.
  • WordPress Multi URI Ping – This plugin helps you ping Update Services with different Weblog URIs.
  • WP-DB Manager – Manages your WordPress database. Allows you to optimize database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database , drop/empty tables and run selected queries.
  • WP-Polls – Adds an AJAX poll system to your WordPress blog. You can easily include a poll into your WordPress’s blog post/page. WP-Polls is extremely customizable via templates and css styles and there are tons of options for you to choose to ensure that WP-Polls runs the way you wanted. It now supports multiple selection of answers.

These are all the plugins I am currently using on my blog. If there are other plugins that you think which would help benefit my blog, please let me know below.
