Are You Marketing with a Direct Response in Mind?

Affiliate Marketing is all about getting an immediate response from the end user. Whether it be entering their email address, filling out a long form, or buying an item. The end goal is for the user to take some sort of action so we as the affiliate get paid. Affiliate marketing has their fair share of alternative words such as performance marketing or direct response marketing, it basically describes the end goal we want to accomplish from the end user.

I recently started reading a blog called Direct Response, which is written by Rich Gorman. I met Rich at dk’s Think Tank back in September. Rich has been in this space for quite a while now, I believe he has been in this space for over a decade or so. Anyways, Direct Response is a blog about direct response. Giving insights on affiliate marketing and even information on becoming an advertiser.

In the past I even attempted to come out with my own email submit offer and it was a pain to get things setup, especially for a one man business.

The blog goes into sections about how to setup your own offers, as an advertiser and promote it to get the best results. Most affiliates that I know slowly merge into the advertiser world and create their own product or offer. Rich’s blog has some great posts that I have read recently, which I think is worth a read..

  1. The 4 Secrets to Media Buys.
  2. 5 Simple Ways to Improve CTR
  3. Building a Million Dollar Offer for less than 2k

There are other great blog posts, which are worth reading. In fact, I am also slowly merging or going to learn more about the advertiser’s side. I want to get to learn more about that space, because I promoted offers in the past which is probably his own offers. Getting to know direct advertisers and how they work is important in marketing to their specific audience.

Rich has shared some great information with me on how he creates income and it is interesting to see the numbers he pulls in by creating his own offers. This is why I create my own online products because sometimes it is more rewarding. As I stated in the past affiliate marketing is a great way to learn how to monetize traffic. If you are an affiliate marketer you can research, test, monetize almost anything. We are built to bring results.

The Direct Response blog brought a lot of great insights on advertising as an advertiser. It is interesting to read insights from a person that makes money off their own offers, not a lot of advertisers talk about their success – even affiliates that merge into the advertiser world are even silent about it. It maybe much more work but it is probably more rewarding.
