It has been several years since I posted my review about Stack that Money, STM Forum. So I thought it would be right to relaunch a follow-up review after being part of the community for several years.
Affiliate Marketing Forums Dead?
Over the years there has been a lot of forums that pop up. A lot of them are just dead. Everyone needs to learn something and you need a community that helps you get there.
When I started, I basically Youtube’d and Google’d everything (the limited resource back 15 years ago). I then tested everything on my own, learning the knowledge on my own an failing on my own. Really, there was no one I can tell my failures to and get some feedback.
Yes, you have forums in the past, but none were really like a community. They were also so broad and so generic, that you can get info overload bu reading a thread. Affiliate Forums specializes in a community and not the trend.
They say your 3 closes friends are or what you can become. It is true with a forum, it will help you shift your mind and thinking into the affiliate you are going to be. There are several affiliate routes to take as well.
Death of affiliate forums, probably not. So many niche specific forums to participate in, but it the quality of content you want to take into consideration and I believe STM Forum is the way to go.
What Can You Learn from This Affiliate Forum?
A whole lot! This forum is very broad, but as I stated above, you will find a specific type of learners, go-getters, and affiliates in this forum. There are several topics that range from Facebook Ads to eCommerce, to Native Ads and Pop Mobile traffic.
You can find everything in here, even SEO affiliates. I feel there aren’t many participants in such threads but it has been growing with the rise of eCommerce. A lot of the type of users you will find are traffic buyers.
With traffic buyers, they want to increase their ROI immediately. So you will find strategies and follow along in this forum, where experts like the forum owners and moderators will leave great feedback. I am in there leaving feedback as well to the community.
Now if you are a beginner you might be overwhelmed with the vast amount of information in here. What I recommend is to pick something you want to start in. If you do not know where then check out their On Boarding thread. This thread gives you a jump start on the affiliate marketing industry.
Still confused about where to start, they also have a lot of successful users. Check out the list of success stories in the forum. These started as follow along because they needed help. The forum community went in and helped these users become super affiliates.
These success stories are not overnighters, let’s get that out of the way. These success stories are users that are just like you trying to start but the STM community came in and gave feedback on their FIRST campaign.
The best part is these came from Follow Along Threads.
Start from Someone Else’s Mistakes
Follow Along threads are just that, you hit up a thread in the forum and follow its activity. The affiliate, usually a beginner, posts…
- their ad spend
- their landing page
- their bid strategy
- their ad creative
- their tools they are using
Everything is posted for the community to give them some sort of feedback. After several days or even a day of paid traffic, they post again their results…
- their CTR
- their Conversions
- their CPC
- and many more stats
This allows the STM users to go in there and tell the person what he did right, wrong, and what to adjust. This is where the meat is, just imagine having not just one mentor but several mentors helping you through their own past experiences.
With everyone throwing their input, you can decide what strategy you want to use. Usually, it ends up working and then you become a success story in the forum!
It isn’t Just a Forum, Always Innovating
STM isn’t just an affiliate marketing forum, it is a community that wants to help improve the community, over the years they have done a lot of projects and invested in tools for the users of the Stack that Money forum.
For example, they are helping affiliates find affiliate jobs through AffJobs. They invested in a visual click tracking platform. Even helping affiliates by providing an ad spy tool to quickly profit from campaigns. The owners of STM forum, are all about innovation and making sure their users are equipped with the tools to conquer the online space.
Recently this year, they even came out with an aggregated report from their longtime community users. It asked several simple questions about the affiliate industry.
Longtime members of the forum gave their feedback.
Always a Community First
After all the information and success the frum has created it wants to always create that family style community. Everyone in the forum usually meets up somehow. Whether it be at affiliate conferences or at STM local events around the world.
These meetups started out as just a gathering of like-minded affiliates that ran affiliate offers. We all wanted to be able to meet and discuss our failures and success. Early, on the owners of STM made such meetups around the world to allow members to network with each other.
Not only is this essential but damn productive as well. It allows affiliates to talk to very like-minded users and talk about threads that have been posted in the STM forum as well. Not only are these meetups productive they are also interactive. Moderators plan sometimes a day or even several days worth of activities for the members of the forum.
This community tends to also create outside mastermind groups as well. Allowing even further discussion of creating ads online.
Overall Conclusion after Years in the STM Forum
After several years in this forum, I find myself logging in and out of it. In order to keep up with the constant changes this industry goes through, I have to read up on what others are doing.
The STM forum helps me keep up with what’s going on with everyone and their traffic sources. What is popular and what tools everyone is using. Not only that but as well as news that is going on and what may or may not happen with that news about our affiliate industry.
STM creates a lot of unique groups as well, video content, podcasts, and training information. It keeps up with traffic trends and wants to make sure their members are keeping up as well. Again, this isn’t just a forum of affiliates. It is an ecosystem of information and tools for affiliates.
