This post is mostly geared towards the best way to use POF's newest targeting option.
** We've since added the ability to target the viewer's age as some offers will only take leads from certain age groups.
There are 3 main ways for dating that I think would lead to the most success:
1. Offer the same, but better. Target a niche and write you ad in a way to offer a better person of that same niche. For example, target athletic male profiles and write an ad that says, "Find guys that are ACTUALLY athletic today and not 5 years ago". An applicable example would be targeting 40+, educated, high income males with ads from a mail order site like Anastasia or Dream Marriage.
2. Offer attractive alternatives. If you know a guy is constantly looking at brunettes, you can customize your IAB to tempt them with another option (ie. "It's proven that Blondes are more fun that Brunettes, try one today").
3. Target "unattractive profiles" and offer a solution. Meaning, telling the profile viewers that they can do better LOL. An applicable example here would be to target profiles of males making lower income and put in an ad for richmen or wealthymen (or white label your own lander). So females get reminded about what they SHOULD be looking for.
