Last night on Hell's Kitchen the two chefs Bonnie and Rock went head to head to compete to become the next head chef at the Green Valley Resort. This specific episode was pretty inspirational as in the fact Rock won and was rewarded to be head chef. During the episodes Rock was always positive and always believed in himself and his family.
Rock was so solid in himself, he truly believed and has self trust he is going to win. He always kept saying t himself he has won I am going to win. This brings me back to a book review I did on Rich Beyond my Wildest Dream. Using the forces of nature and the universe you can get anything you want as long as you are positive without greed. Rock showed a great example of this through out the season, using him as an example, either correcting himself, believing in himself, and apologizing for himself.
Rock I can admit has had an attitude problem and brought it out several times during the season. Blamed Chef Ramsey for poor decision making, talked back to Jen showing no respect, act 'hard' when Brad nominated himself. When it came back to returning to the dorms he went back to a state of relaxation and apologized to himself about the attitude and actions he has done. Always mentioning his family, apologizing to his family, he wants to set a good example for his kids.
Rock I think was very inspirational because at the end of the season finale he says "You can do anything you put your mind to" which he wants his kids to see. Rock grabs the opportunity and took it to heart and kept saying to himself that he has already won. My book review about Rich Beyond my Wildest Dream says the universe will help you accomplish your needs as if you already have it. Simply by Rock saying he has already won, the universe is there to help him get there as long he works hard at it and can feel he is already there. Several times Rock says he can taste it, its at arms reach, or he has already won it. This helped the universe map out his dream and wants.
Rock wanted this prize so much he worked hard at it and even rewarded his helpers. Last night at the season finale, he spoke to Josh personally and told him that he can cook and to stay relaxed, he gave him positive feedback and he gave him trust. Though Josh did mess up once again and even several times that Rock had to make a decision.
But during the season Rock has grown as a person and has self improved. He did not want to show his kids that their daddy was a bully; he wanted to set an example. His family helped him back himself up as well as provided him with some personal growth. His son, daughter and wife, played an important role when he was struggling in the kitchen, keeping his desires burning and his wants more stronger, tasting and feeling his new restaurant.
Steve Pavlina has a good post on personal growth and self trust, here is a small snippet from his post:
Personal growth is more than merely conditioning yourself to feel better about your life. While some people clearly need an attitudinal adjustment to make progress, the optimal attitude for personal growth doesn’t arise from self-delusional positive thinking. You don’t need positive thinking for personal growth. You simply need intelligence.
In the long run, it’s more important to learn to trust your own intelligence than it is to be right. At first your self-trust may be misplaced. You may very well find that you make a lot of dumb decisions by trusting yourself ahead of people who seem to know more. But through this process of failure, you’ll develop your intellectual capacity and expand your awareness, and soon your self-trust will be justified, and you’ll begin making some really empowering decisions that actually generate results. Follow Shakespeare’s advice, “To thine own self be true,†even when it gets you into trouble initially, and eventually your faith in yourself will be well-earned.
With this said Rock trust in himself and so did Chef Ramsey, earning him a 250 thousand dollar salary at the Green Valley Restaurant. He has proved to himself, his family, Chef Ramsey, and all of us anything is possible if you put your mind to it. This is a great example he has set forth to his son and daughter, using Rock as a role model and great father!
Rock showed us that we can do whatever we want or achieve whatever we desire by just correcting ourselves and believing that the wins are reality, once he know he can taste it and fully believe in it, he is rewarded with what he 'have'.
If you have watched the full season of Hell's Kitchen Rock was very positive in himself, trusted in himself and always cared for others (if he corrected himself or spoke of his family), this gave the universe the outline for his desires to become reality and become head Chef!
