It is Sunday and I usually do not post on Sunday. But going over some support emails and emails in general, I noticed and received a unique one. I get emails all the time about help, better business building, affiliate networks, brand help, etc.
This specific email just struck me and I guess it whats separates me from everyone else in the online marketing field. The email basically asks why I give away tactics that helps me make money. It goes on saying and even giving examples from past posts and my recently release Twitter Snipe product.
First let's take a look at the email it self and you let me know what you think.
Ian,
I love your blog and your recent product launch, I saw your stats in Alexa and it is very impressive. I know someday I can explode in traffic like you do, but it is not my forte.
Like you I consider myself a super affiliate. I just want to pose a question to you. Why within your blog and your products do you give out beneficial tips? I personally dont like competition and the reason why I dont have a blog. Specifically on your blog I have found tricks that are astounding. I found your blog via a php epc rotation script which you posted a while back. Amazing btw. But why give it out to other affiliates that either are starting out or trying to make more money than you?
Sometimes when I read blogs about marketing and they actually give out tips and not the general information bs, I think why.
I myself do not even try to talk to other affiliates which is primarily my competition.
More so you recently created Twitter Snipe, which I can say is the best idea out! You are a smart marketer I can tell you that, but why sell it, why not just keep it to yourself?
Why have others benefit off your success? I know these are a lot of questions, but out of curiosity.
Super affiliate to super affiliate.
NAME REMOVED
When I read this email I had to read it twice because tis specific person contradicts himself a couple times.
First, I do not consider myself a super affiliate. It just sounds like I have to wear a cape and be part of a crusade or something. Anyways I analyzed this email and found it weird that he is contacting me about my blog.
So first he said "I know someday I can explode in traffic..." though he says it is not his 'forte' but considers himself a super affiliate. You can easily explode in traffic if you are a super affiliate, buy relevant traffic.
Next, "...on your blog I have found tricks that are astounding. I found your blog via a php epc rotation script which you posted a while back." Yet he talks about sharing information, when he himself is searching for information to better his affiliate strategies.
"I myself do not even try to talk to other affiliates which is primarily my competition." Interesting how he sent me an email, I think that is considered talking to your competition? The email has several questions, so I assume we are communicating to one another.
"but why sell it, why not just keep it to yourself?" He probably bought Twitter Snipe to his own benefits.
In general this email was just odd. Doesn't seem he knew what he was doing and typing because I am his competition, yet he is communicating with me about my strategies and tools I post on my blog.
It is amazing how some people just want to try to talk to you yet they contradict themselves too much and not even realized it. From his comments within the email and the overall feel of the email seems a little bit suspect.
