There are so many sales pages out there that uses the popular Java Pop Up. This is a popup that comes up on page load, usually is on the sales landing page. Marketers use this to both gather and build list, since it sticks out. It scrolls onto the page and attracts the user. It jumps out!
Javascript popup windows are currently one of the best methods for web advertising and catching the web surfer's attention. Here is a list of reason why I like to use Java Pop Ups.
- The advertiser benefits the most because his message gets through to the end user. As simple as that. The advertisers can create different types of pop-up windows which will have the advertising message displayed on it. These are also effective with general website audience because they are eye-catchy by nature.
- Various search engines like Google, Yahoo, Alexa and MSN provide their toolbars with popup blocking feature. Such toolbars were introduced because many website advertisers took undue advantage of the popup method to create tons of popups for their websites and webpages.
- It is good for the general users that the Javascript Popup windows have replaced the old popups. The conventional popups were very annoying and could hang your browser or operating system for some time. These new Javascript Popups are not actually new windows but an imitation of the old Popup windows in the same browser window itself and can be closed easily on a single click.
Well I decided to use these popup scripts on two of my webpages. theIanternet.com and ClickBankViews.com. When I first started to use the script I use it to gain and build my list or created it as tell a friend script. But to me it seemed that once a user arrives on your page they would rather view content before actually joining or telling your friend about the webpage. Is this webpage worth telling someone? Is this webpage and its content worth joining that I will not get spammed? Some questions I ask myself when I join someone's list.I decided to do something different that is about content and not gather people's emails or try to tell their friends. Building a list is base on the option of the user, hence the name Opt In. So once a user gets use to the content on my web sites they will either join my list via a subscribe link on another page or tell their friends via word of mouth or other forms.
I decided to put content in the popup script and earn something from it, similar to a pre sell affiliate page, but more condensed. It provides information and a link to another page with more information, if they purchase I earn a commission. Which is not bad, I mean it would be better for me to have a list but since I am starting small I would like to take this as a study. I want to see if more clicks happen than subscribe if it does, perfect!
I use a good, well real good popup script called Pop-Up Machine. It a very simple, and basic pop up generator. You can insert any HTML in its context and it works perfectly. Your popups become an integral part of the HTML code on your web page, and can even help in adding more content for search engine spiders to find, and help rank your website.
You can add the popup code anywhere you like from the top to bottom of your page, the choice is yours. In fact, if you already have your web page optimized for the search engines, you can add your popup window code to an external file, and access it without harming your optimized page.
You have control over size, border colors, background colors, text size and face, table layout design, popup timing, and more. You can create your own table layout and designs, or simply copy/paste ones we have created for you.
Through the use of cookies, you control if your popup is seen every time the web page is loaded, once a day, once a week, or even once a month.
You can also have your popups exit your page without any input from your website visitors at all.

I am studying the affects of the way I am using the java popup and I will follow-up with you all to show you my results.
