This Harlem Shake has been taking over the internet and it seems everyone is trying to take advantage of the views on youtube. This is a 30 second clip of a person just dancing stil for the first 15 seconds until the beat drops and then hysteria just breaks loose. Literally everyone has been doing this because it is just 30 seconds of music and it is a quick watch.
When I say everyone, I mean every from news channels to kids, to our own industry. Plenty of Fish and Clickbooth got in the craze and made their own video to this viral craze. I think they want to get the views because it has seemed that almost every Harlem Shake video has received at least half a million to a million views. The more creative ones beat 4 million views.
So here is the videos of the Harlem shake that networks in our industry have been doing:
Clickbooth at their office...
Plenty of Fish and their employees.
When I was growing up, I am pretty sure this is the real Harlem Shake - watch them kids and shoulders. This is what I remember the harlem shake to be, not craziness in weird costumes and running about.
Then again news channels and even our networks are doing it for views and to see if they can spread their brand out and have fun while doing it. Definitely a great way to get exposure pretty easily and fast. Just interesting to see affiliate networks and ad networks get involved in this craze. It would be interesting to see if they do reach a million views since the damn beat is getting annoying lately but also interesting to see what other videos are more creative over others.
... damn it I need to get off Youtube!
