#TBT, My First Clickbank Checks. We All Start Somewhere.

By Ian Fernando

#TBT (ThrowBack Thursday)  is a popular trend it seems on Instagram, so I decided to make a post with the hashtag in it. Not sure why pound topic is a social trend but ehh I'll use it to its advantages. Anyways, Throwback Thursday means you show a picture of yourself from waaay back in the day. Some people show their childhood photos, promo photos, vacation photos, their marriages, etc.

So I decided to share a picture of me with my Clickbank checks from when I first started on the internet. At this time in my life I was doing well with my life because this is a newer apartment that I lived in. Prior to this I was working 3 jobs to just live and basically survive. Now doesn't that sound scary. I made enough spare income, that I rid of my 2 jobs to keep one good one and still be profitable online.

Now these images are not HUGE checks but it was an extra source of income. With my day job I was able to still get Clickbank checks mailed to me, I want to say every 2 weeks. While some checks were just under 1k, other checks were low 1k, now that is a pretty decent extra source of income a month. At this time of my online career, I was driven and gathered a lot of information from other online marketers such as (JohnChow.com, ShoeMoney.com, at that time Ruck's CashTactics.net, JoelComm.com and even ProBlogger.net) There were other blogs that played a role in my success as well and it would be too long to list them all.

I wanted to share this because, I want to show you it is possible to make money online and as an affiliate. With this extra income, I reinvested it towards conferences such as Affiliate Summit (my first) and Ad-Tech (my first). I figured I would use it towards myself and fly to other parts of the US such as Vegas and San Francisco where these conferences are.

With these trade shows, I basically grew my business online and not just being a Clickbank affiliate but into an affiliate for Azoogle at the time. I grew into a more sophisticated marketing person and started to view things in a different manner. If you are an avid reader of my blog you probably know how much I have grown over the years. It is amazing what I have accomplished.

I went from 3 jobs to 1 to none, now I make jobs. Crazy. At that point of time all I wanted to do was to just rid of 2 out of 3 jobs so I can live a 'normal' life. Later in the months I realize I can grow more and create my own form of a 'normal' life. I do not have to create a life of what others deemed to be what it should be. That is when I realize, I can do this and be great at it. I don't need to have a job, I can create my own job (something I enjoy a lot).

So it is possible to make money online, just take a look at me and this blog for example. I was able to make a little extra income to get rid of 2 out of 3 jobs. I was also able to reinvest that extra income towards conferences to better improve and expand my knowledge. You too can also have extra income and can use it towards yourself or have it reinvested into your future. It is possible to make money online, you just have to be hungry to do it and not be afraid to risk your own income to be successful.

These images are def old and I am glad I was able to take a snapshot of myself holding these checks because it shows how much I have grown as a person, a marketer, and as an overall person. Use this post as a motivation and to help drive you to do more. Again these are not HUGE $50,000 checks, these are simple 1k checks from when I started and you too can start and rise to the top!
